These Rag Rugs are simply divine. Each Area Rag Rug is almost a half an inch thick and their weight insures that the rug lays flat with no bunching. (A Rug Pad is not necessary.)

Expensive low-impact European dyes are used, and the ten vibrant colors are saturated and rich. To insure their longevity, only the very best materials are used including 100% cotton (chindi), expensive European dyes, and high-grade cotton warp thread.

They don't wear out, they wear in.

Each Rag Rug is hand-woven in India by an enterprising group of village artisans. Their texture, color and charm make them an ideal area rug.

They are completely reversible as they have the same high quality and color on both sides. The cotton is triple washed after dying to help prevent any color transfer. All the rag rugs are subject to total quality control to ensure their integrity and longevity.

These area rag rugs are pretty well stocked, but some move more quickly than others. If you would like to check the availability of your choice, please contact us and we will check the inventory before you order.

We use dyes of European origin to get the rich colors. The dyes are more expensive then the local market dyes that the typically used.
We use a high-grade 100% cotton warp thread. The warp thread binds the rug together. The quality warp thread insures the longevity of the rugs.
Our Cotton Rugs use 30% more warp thread than typical rugs. This gives our rugs their tight weave and strong heavy weight quality.

The village workers in India consists of men and women, most of whom have worked for the manufacturer for over 10 years. These workers are paid more than the prevailing wage, with benefits such as health care provided for their entire family, disability coverage and a month’s bonus pay in October, during Diwali the Festival of Lights.

Caring for Your Beautiful Rag Rug

These area rugs are truly wonderful. We like telling people that these rag rugs do not wear out, they wear in. Being nearly 1/2' thick they do not need a rug pad as they stay where they are put.

They are quite heavy when wet. The 2'x 3' can be put in the washer, and a front loader works best. Being Cotton they need to be washed in COLD water, and dried flat to retain their shape. The other sizes do well with spot cleaning, a good vacuum or shake and/or a broom beating while hung outside. We'd like to remind you that you do get two rugs in one. You can easily flip them over, so they do not need as much cleaning as you might imagine. And, of course they can be professionally cleaned.
