Our Nantucket Futon Frame offers Mission-Craft Style and Comfort combined with strength and high quaity craftsmanship. Made from Solid Natural Ash Wood. Ash is a very strong and beautiful wood with lovely subtle grain patterns. Seat-back connection is the best available. A custom steel spacer passes through the seat deck, holding it square during conversion. A nylon lock nut provides permanent tension for the assembly, eliminating the traditional "loose and clunky" futon conversion. Slats are wide and thick, making them break-free and comfortable with the futon mattress. Tongue-and-groove construction makes our Nantucket Futon Frame Strong and durable.

Natural Wood Finish

We leave our futon frames unfinished, you do not need to put a finish on our futon frames. They are sanded smooth and can be easily finished with you favorite stain, oil or paint, or left as natural wood. Our favorite way to finish these frames is with a natural product, we have had great success with called Oil Wax Finish, from a company called AFM Safe Coat. This product is natural and non-toxic, super easy to apply and really brings out the natural warmth and beauty of the wood. It contains a combination of natural resins and waxes that together create a durable, water repellent, water-mark resistant finish and sealer, enhancing and maintaining wood beauty and breathability. Sanding or special tools are not needed, simply rub the oil on the wood with a clean cloth. One quart will finish 2-3 frames.
